About Cambodian Threads
Cambodian Threads is a Fair Trade Fashion company that offers fair trade scarves, fair trade neckties and fair trade bags from Cambodia. Products are handcrafted in a comfortable working environment by the Hengs, a family of artisans from Prek Bongkong, a rural village in Cambodia. We purchase goods from the artisans for a fair price, and then a portion of every sale is used to fund Educational Development projects in Cambodia.
Cambodian Threads was founded by Jake Daniels and Steve Patton in late 2009, during Daniels stint teaching English language classes in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Daniels is recently finished a Fulbright Scholarship in Southeast Asia, and still heads up operations on the ground in Cambodia, coordinating purchases and Education Initiatives. US operations are run by Steve Patton and Barrie Golden, with consultation by Mike Patton.
We are certified members of the Fair Trade Federation, and at this time are an LLC in the United States, in the process of filing for 501(c)(3) Non Profit Status.
